What is a growth engine? A website run every week by AI agents, with engineers in charge

A growth engine is a website that keeps bringing clients: pages that answer what buyers ask, a free tool, a clear next step and leads that arrive with their source, kept moving every week by AI agents under rules engineers write. What it is, how it runs and what stays yours.

Most business websites are built once and then left alone. They explain what the company does, and then they wait. The blog stops after a few posts, social posting happens when someone has time, and nobody can say which page ever brought a client.

A growth engine is the opposite: a website that keeps working. It answers what your buyers ask, gives them something useful before they talk to you, shows them the next step, and tells you which page and channel brought each enquiry. Then it does it again next week. This is what EVDevs builds and runs for web projects, and what we built for ourselves first.

The four parts of a growth engine

  • Pages that answer buyers. Services described by the problem they solve, and articles that answer the questions your buyers type into Google and AI assistants, each one ending in a next step.
  • A free tool. A check, a calculator or an audit that gives a visitor a useful answer straight away. It is the reason a reader leaves an email, and it shows your expertise better than any claim (give the answer before you ask).
  • A paid step after it. The free tool leads to something small and concrete to buy, which leads to the larger engagement. Each step gives value and moves the right buyers to the next one.
  • Leads with their source. Every enquiry arrives with the page and the channel it came from, so you know what brings clients and stop guessing (every lead should arrive with its source).

Those four parts are the machine. What keeps it moving is the weekly routine.

The routine: what happens every week

A site brings clients when something new happens on it every week: an article that answers this week's question, posts that lead back to it, one improvement to the site, and a look at which pages brought enquiries (the weekly routine, step by step). Small businesses know this. They rarely keep it up, because that work is never urgent and the clients in front of them always are.

In a growth engine, AI agents carry that routine:

  • Content: new articles from what your buyers ask, and refreshes of the pages that have gone stale.
  • Social: posts on your channels that lead back to the article, and replies to the people who comment.
  • Development: the site's own improvements, from a clearer first line to a new free tool, shipped in order of value.
  • Reporting: every month, in writing, what was published, what was posted, what changed and which pages and channels brought enquiries.

Why AI agents, and why engineers

AI does the volume: drafts, articles, posts, replies and code. What isn't automated is the judgement. Engineers write the rules each agent follows, review what it produces and decide what ships. That is how one small team can keep a site publishing every week without the quality dropping.

The rules are written down before the first page:

  • A voice guide for your business: who you sell to, how you sound, the words you use and the ones you never do.
  • A facts file: your services and results, each with its source. Nothing is invented; what can't be sourced isn't published (AI content that doesn't make things up).
  • A list of what is never said: client names, figures you haven't approved, promises you can't keep.
  • Limits for every agent: on your social channels they post and reply as your business, never message anyone on your behalf, never spend money and never change account settings. You can pause them at any time.

Built on our own site first

We don't sell a method we haven't run. Our own site is a growth engine: more than 300 pages in English and Spanish, each leading to a service, a free check or a conversation; eight free checks, including a full website audit, each next to the service it leads to; and every lead arriving with its source (how we built it).

The same way of working built SuperEscuela Solar entirely with AI, without a line of code written by hand, and rebuilt a twenty-year-old directory site in 18 days, which now has an AI agent on duty with an engineer setting its rules and checking its work.

How it starts, and what stays yours

  1. A free check. Ten questions show what your site does for you today and where it loses people.
  2. A written plan. One page: who you sell to, what they ask, the free tool that fits your business and the paid step after it. Every agent works from it.
  3. The build, at a fixed price. Services, blog, the free tool and lead capture with its source, delivered working. If your current site can carry them, we build around it; if it can't, we move it with every page proven before the switch.
  4. The monthly run. Content, social and development every week, and the report every month. You can stop at any time.

The website, its content and its code are yours once paid for: all IP rights in what we deliver transfer to you when every agreed payment has been made. The agents, prompts and tools we use to run it stay ours, the way a design studio keeps its tools. There is no product of ours under your site to license or lock you in.

Is it for you?

A growth engine fits when your site looks fine but almost never brings an enquiry, when you know you should publish every week and it keeps slipping, and when you sell expertise and want buyers to see it before they talk to you. If your site already brings enquiries and you want more from it, the deep audit and the ongoing engagement may be the better start.

The growth engine check shows in a few minutes which parts your site already has and which one to build first. The full offer is on the growth engine page.

The examples in this article come from real engagements. Client details withheld; every figure comes from the client’s own data.
