Give the answer first: lead magnets that earn the contact

Our free self-checks give a scored result, the gaps and their fixes on the page, with no email required. Then they offer two ways forward and a report built to be forwarded. Here is how they work.

Most lead magnets work like a toll booth: hand over your email, then maybe you get something. We built ours the other way round. The visitor gets the useful part first, on the page, without giving anything. Only then do we offer a next step, and the visitor picks how big a step it is.

One minute, ten questions, a real answer

Each of our free self-checks takes about a minute: ten questions, in English or Spanish, and a scored result. There are three:

  • Revenue leak check, for websites that used to earn and now earn less.
  • Post-funding build check, for startups that have just raised and are planning the build.
  • AI readiness check, for companies that want AI inside their product or operations, not only as a coding tool. Its ten questions follow our method, two per stage, so the result shows which stage is holding the company back.

The result appears immediately and in full: the score, a verdict, and the gaps ranked by impact, each with a fix and a related article. Nothing is hidden behind a form. A visitor who leaves right then still leaves with a diagnosis they can act on.

Each check sits where the matching intent is: next to the matching offer on the Services hub, the Startups page, and the posts and category pages on the same topic.

Two paths, for two levels of readiness

Most people who take a self-check are not ready to talk to anyone yet. A single “contact us” button serves only the few who are. So the result offers two ways forward:

  • Send the result to an engineer. One click opens the contact form, pre-filled with the result, for people who want help now.
  • Email me my result. For everyone else. The promise under the button is literal: “Only this email. No newsletter, no sales sequence.” Nothing more is sent unless the person replies.

Without the light option, most visitors leave with nothing and we never learn who they were. With it, they leave with something useful, and we gain a contact who has already seen how we think. Both paths record a lead in Google Analytics 4, tagged by type, so we can see which one people choose.

A report built to be forwarded

A self-check result is the most personal thing the site gives a visitor, and the people who most need to see it are often their boss, their co-founder or their developer. So the email is a designed report, made to be passed on:

  • The score and the verdict.
  • The full checklist, each item marked done, partly or missing.
  • A fix and an article for each pending item.
  • The next step, and a share section: the check itself, LinkedIn and WhatsApp.

It contains no personal data, so it can be forwarded as is, and it opens with “Was this forwarded to you? Take the check yourself”. Every link in it is UTM-tagged by check, so visits and leads that come from forwarded reports can be told apart from everything else, in GA4 and in the CRM. If a report gets passed around a team, the tags will show it.

Why the form can’t be used for spam

Any form that sends an email to an address the visitor types can be abused to send someone else junk in your name. Ours can’t. The browser sends only the raw answers; the server recomputes the score itself and builds the email entirely from the site’s own copy. Nothing the visitor types appears in it. Invalid answers and unknown checks are rejected.

What we checked before launch

We ran the full path in the browser and on the server: a 55/100 result produced the correct Spanish report with six gaps and their articles, the confirmation appeared on the page, and GA4 recorded the lead with its type. Bad input was rejected rather than processed.

The principle

Give first, ask second, and let the visitor choose the size of the next step. A lead magnet that answers a real question earns a contact who already trusts your judgment, and a result worth forwarding can bring the next visitor with it.

If you want to see it from the visitor’s side, take one of the checks. It takes a minute, and the answer is yours whether or not you ever write to us.
